Bill O'Reilly confronted Joseph Simmons about specific lyrics the rappers uses inter-exchangeable while desensitizing children with corruptions. Joseph Simmon said, "What we see is what we see and what you hear is a reflection of it." O'Reilly made reference to the new drink Nelly has out called, "Pimp Juice." He also made a good faith effort to say that he is against "gangsta rap" and the illusion the industry gives when it teaches children to use the terms "bitches and hoes" and these kids don't even know what a prostitute is. Reverend Run defended the rap industry and said, "You can't blame the rap industry." First, children are becoming more desensitized to corruption. Morals and values are being changed to dysfunctionalism. Another "ism" used to demean us. Dysfunctional means not operating properly. Dysfunctional also means, unable to relate emotionally and socially." Bill O'Reilly has a point; money can blind the best of people, when they only see what they see. Rap is entertainment. Rap is what it is. It is easy to place blame. There is plenty of blame to go around. The media play their part. The businessmen play their part. But, the family environment plays a part in it as well. There are risk factors and consequences that could be use to measure the correlation between gangsta rap and the behaviors of children and adults (some) in this day and age. Being unable to relate emotionally and socially, is that the rappers fault? Some of them are college graduates; all of them were raised from poverty. Yet, they found their niche and are promoting it. Others have done the same: from the old minstrels and Al Olson's black painted face over white skin to our young females in videos more than half-naked and creating the sense that it's cool. The image projected here is that Bill O'Neil is the bad guy because he believes the lyrics used on these cd's in the gangsta rap are harmful, and the messages given by some rappers are just as detrimental to the stages of development of Black and White youths. Nelly created a drink called, Pimp Juice. What does this say about squandering opportunity to really break open the door into the economic industry and you send a message out to those who emulate you or are happy about your success and you urinate in their brains of youths and fill it up like a toilet bowl? There is no way around the word, "Pimp." The point is whose pimping whom? For the record, Pimping is a form of slavery. Control freaks who use their charm, looks, status, cleaver tongues as an art to target in on their prey, in support of a wasteful lifestyle of play and entertainment. They put their women on the auction blocks, dressed them in anything that will entice the carnal desires, misused the women and men, for their lifestyles pretend to care about the others. In some cases, gorilla pimps don't care about the other and use the "See what you made me do," to defend the violence placed upon one who didn't meet the pimp's expectation of the deed the person was set out to gain. Pimps equal slave masters so, don't get it twisted. And, there are different variations of pimps, such as those who have the power to send subliminal messages to distort the mindset of their victims. In this case, Nelly is doing the pimping. He is pimping the minds of the young and he is pimping the industry. He is making a name for himself whether you like it or not. The consequences behind "Liking it or not" will be hearing the voices of children hollering, "It's pimping with me, man." From that the conduct will spiral and continue to take them to places, specific cultures that they truly would have no knowledge about until they are caught up. Playing the role of the oppressors gathering their slaves to be inducted into their madness, prostituting, drug sales and violence, these are the attributes that go along with the package. Disrespecting self and others, including their parents and authority. To modestly put out a product for your own self-interest and not having any regards to others who can and will be affected by your actions is like urinating in the toilet bowl--releasing your waste into the minds of those who are unsure of themselves and who they want to be and what they want to study to become. Pimp Juice is a drink, a liquid that is transformed beyond the substance, but carries a message of misused fame that will cause iniquities. Bill O'Reily started in on Joseph Simmons, and he had his say. I am giving my. This Black man has enough money and brains to create and introduce a product that could build the economics of the Black community but he squanders it by naming a product "Pimp Juice." This goes to prove one or two things, you can take the Negro out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the Negro; or whose playing the role of the new generational slave masters? Parents should talk with your children on a regular basis and educate them to the differences between garbage and entertainment and sell-outs. Just because the industries make billions doesn't mean the messages are right or that all of them are wrong, but hey, didn't the same thing hold true to slavery? Parents need to spend time with their children and love them the best way they can. They should be the ones their children emulate. Thank you, but no pimp juice please; feed me knowledge and give me a glass of something that will quench my internal thirst and not distort my external presence. |
