Too many warnings may harm the US

Every day the Bush White House is warning Americans about another way terrorists are likely to strike. These warnings have become so numerous and varied that they are really silly--Scuba Diver Terrorists?

Of course terrorists will try to kill Americans in any way they can, but spare us the meaningless multiple warnings. Last week, we were told about watching our neighbors for apartment complex bombings. The week before that we were told that they will try bombing malls and theater houses.

A few weeks ago it was sewers and trucks, and trains and buses. Now the latest warning, terrorist scuba divers? This is too much; this is foolish. A scuba diver can kill a certain number of people; the modern day terrorist wants to kill as many as he can. Why bother with scuba diving?

We wonder what the Bush administration is up to in these multiple warnings. Is there no one there who knows what to share and what not to share? Are we the ones to protect ourselves and not our government? Are these warnings telling us that, We are the government; we have warned you, that is all we can or we are obligated to do?

When one cries wolf repeatedly and no wolf comes, when there really is a wolf no one will listen. Everyone knows that, except the Bush administration. These many warnings can be setting up the American people to let their guards down instead of helping us remain vigilant. Tell us when the wolf is really coming. []
