Soul Balancing

Carolyn Stokes

Learning is about finding personal balance between outer experience and inner wisdom. We constantly shift between thoughts and feelings, beliefs and assumptions, dreams and practicality .We become more knowledgeable when we are open to learn.

This takes trust in the teacher and faith in the reason we are being open to receiving information. Otherwise we close down to prevent the bombardment of details we access every moment. We become wiser when our deep intuitive understanding helps us to make choices that lead us to becoming as successful as we are able. Hopefully, this will happen in a kind, supportive world. Practically, we do the best we can with what we have.

Leaders show us how they succeeded. No leader can live for us. "Life is a do-it-yourself process." We learn that our choices have repercussions and consequences that have to be considered. We learn to make choices that help us to fit in today's existence.

Our past was a brave effort to survive and do the best we could with the tools available to us. The future is a bright shining star of possibilities and potential which guides our choices. Each today is a step in that future direction or we slip back into the old past and that is familiar. Our responsibility is to make each day the best that we know how, and to enjoy the privilege of learning from our mistakes; our triumphs are points of light toward our star of  hope.

A great exercise at night is this: tally each day's activities to see if we made the best choices among many opportunities. This is where reading, writing, math, art, and meditations can become helpful. We can monitor our own growth process, staying in charge of our own development, instead of being programmed by the needs of others.

We are unique persons even as we share commonalities with other human beings. Our book of experiences becomes enjoyable and even humorous reading for the next generation. How are you coping with millennium changes and choices? []
