Ariel Sharon of Israel
should hold his peace

Last month it was al Quaeda linked falsely to the Palestinians by Sharon; now it's Iraq hiding weapons in Syria by Sharon. Who next of Israel's neighbors will Prime Minister Ariel Sharon attempt to poison pen into the cross hairs of America's military?

Sharon may be a politician with much ambition, he is not, however, a Prime Minister with much leadership ability and no press savvy. Who is advising him anyway? Whoever they are, they should be fired because they are allowing their boss to look silly in an international public.

Sharon has gone from little credibility on the Palestinians to hardly any credibility, as the hawks of his administration attempt to focus US military for Israeli advantage. That is a very dangerous game of manipulating American public and foreign policies. It could easily backfire on Israel.

There is an expression in the Book of Job that seems quite apt for governing Sharon's mouth. Job said to his advisors, who were eager to talk but without appropriate words, "You are physicians of no value; if you would altogether hold your peace, that would be your wisdom."

Since Prime Minister Sharon's advisors seem intent on allowing him to look like the minute man for every occasion, he would be well advised to be quiet until he can fire his press advisors and get some who are competent and working to make him seem credible and statesman-like.

Until then, we will hear impromptu and off the cuff remarks that are unimpressive, as the death toll of Palestinians and Israelis keep rising, prompting the world to ask if there is any real thought being given to leadership in that region of the world. []
