For Scholars and Students

Documentation and Citation:
A Word

To the many scholars and researchers who use Gibbs Magazine in their search, we thank you and are glad we can be of use in your research. Many of you have asked about dates of certain articles written, and we have started dating and back-dating all articles published in Gibbs for your benefit.

Gibbs has no volumes or editions that you may cite, other than the weekly publications an article may have appeared in. For a background vita of the writer, you may go to our columnists page if the writer of a certain article is a regular columnists of Gibbs.

For guest writers in Gibbs, you may find a brief bio of them in our Guest Archives. Or you may research this magazine for the writings of an author. Somewhere among his/her articles you may find a brief background vita of that person.

Another method some researchers and students have used is to e-mail Gibbs, requesting a writer's respond to certain questions. Gibbs Magazine cannot assure that a writer will respond, but we can assure you that we will forward all requests to specific writers of Gibbs.

We have found this action to be more fruitful than most people know; sometimes a writer will take great interest in responding. This is true for writers beyond Gibbs, and college professors look favorably on that type of aggressive research.
