Of strange suits:
Two City College Professors Sue and then Pay

Last week, the SF Examiner Newspaper reported that two San Francisco City College professors had filed suit against students who set up a web site that allowed other students to offer their grades of teachers.

What they did not like, the report says, was the personal attacks that were made on them. One professor was called mentally ill and accused of committing rape and murder.

The professors filed a suit a year ago seeking damages for libelous personal attacks.

Just last week, the professors dropped the suit and agreed to pay $10,000 to help pay the legal fees for the defendants.
