Supposedly,
America is More Mature

United States of America, the home of the free, is where liberty prevails. There is no other country where you have freedom of speech, etc. The United States has helped many, but the USA has also caused harm to many. The United States of America is one of the most powerful nations in the world, and we are made up of different ethnic groups and cultures, mostly assimilated into "Americans."

September 11 marked one of the most horrific mass murder attacks upon U.S. soil. The World Trade Center and the Pentagon were wrecked by terrorists using U.S. commercial airplanes. The newspapers headlined, "The U.S. is Under Attack." Televisions and radios etched this image of war into the minds of Americans instantly.

September 11 marks an American tragedy for sure. People of all cultures were killed, and the president of the U.S. called for both war and prayer.

Power is having the ability to get another to believe in, and/or carry out tasks, whether the task is for monetary gains, control, or authority. It is not in question whether America has such power. This country and its policies are made by the powerful, with systems designed to get tasks accomplished. I say America has underlying motives in the September 11 tragedy.

Racism has evolved, and I bet you thought it had subsided. You see, racism today, is shown subtly. Some cultures said, they had never experienced racism in America. But now, you can see it--in plain view. Placing Osama bin Laden's pictures and interviews all over mass media, provokes racism. Did you see bin Laden, or did you see a picture of a Muslim?

Now, politicians and the media are doing cleanup, trouble-shooting, to stop the violence against Muslims living in the US. The powerful have America where they want you, so the rest will be a piece of cake. They can start by depleting the funds saved up by Clinton's administration, which had come into office with over a trillion-dollar deficit. Bush and congress have already given away billions-- about $30 billion to the airline conglomerates. This is the same president who cut funds for children's welfare, clean air, clean water, etc.

Many African Americans must not forget how they became AFRICAN AMERICANS. Some live EUROCENTRIC lives and do not know their own culture. Many can't see the plan that has been in progress, exterminating Blacks for centuries--we populate more than 80% of the jails and prisons across the United States. I wonder why? How many Arab Americans, Chinese Americans, Japanese Americans, or Pacific Islanders, occupy those institutions? Basically, it is poor Whites and Blacks; the powerful live off the oppressed.

Cultural America is singing go to war, wiping out nations because of our tragedy in New York. But tragedies are perpetrated here in America, to Americans, on a daily basis--from Marcus Garvey to El Malik El Shabazz (Malcolm X), Dr. King, and to the Kennedys. It wasn't until President B. Lyndon Johnson's action did the Civil Rights Act get signed. And until this day, the methodology of Willie Lynch is still crippling Black America with the conditioning that was only supposed to last 100 years.

We should ask what powerful forces taught these terrorists to kill? I know you know the answer, but emotions got you. Cultural America lives and breaths Euro American values, with no concern for others. But as you pray now, don't forgot when it came time to vote for prayers in school, no moral conclusion could be made. It was voted no prayers in schools. But now, the president calls for the whole nation to pray, and you do.

My view is my view. I am an African American. I do not believe war is the solution because America trained those terrorists; death will continue. But what is America's motive?

We must not forget how the United States got the states--this country. The opportunity arose for the United States to go to the Middle East. Is this an attempt to take the land and oil, along with strategic positioning?

We must not forget Vietnam and the reception our soldiers received upon their return from a long and brutal battle. What was the outcome? There are many veterans who still suffer from posttraumatic stress disorders and alcoholism.

What I know is that if the United States goes to war, the rich will get richer, and there will be more jails, prisons, and hospitals built. There will be more doctors, counselors, therapists, social and human service professionals needed. There will be more police and security officers needed. There will be more to this than meets the eye, and the taxpayers will foot the bill.

This new war will affect millions. We need to think things out and come up with the best possible solution to solve the problem of capturing and foiling terrorists.

Only one member of congress chose logic over emotions, and voted no on a war. She is almost an outcast because of it, but I salute her. This African American woman stood up and used the most basic tool that too few use during a crisis---common sense.

We must not forget that violence begets violence; this is not a movie. What's America's motive? []
