presenter Mmiso Mmereki is a young and energetic
personality who is always keen to bring her
sense of fun to her audience through
her music and talent show.

."

Mokaragana, a local talent and music show on BTV
which is
quite popular among the youth both in her
country and in Zimbabwe too.
She loves to use her
passion for physical fitness in her TV work.
And, whenever
viewers see her dancing energetically, one might
think she is on drugs or some
other things.
"I love music, I love
fun and dancing during my shows," says the
enthusiastic and
bubbling presenter. "I don't take any drugs. I
got to the gym to stay fit and going."
Mmiso is quite popular
with kids in her country and here in Zimbabwe.
Her fans
follow enthusiastically her energetic and
popular approach to her own musical
show.
Botswana TV beams a
free satellite channel to Zimbabwe. Even though,
Zimbab-
wean parents feel uneasy seeing their children
staying glued to foreign television
programmes, the children say a diversity of
television programmes brings more
choice to them.
The mighty Victoria
Falls, the country's main tourist attraction
wooed Mmiso's
heart. "The Falls are truly amazing," she says.
"I truly enjoyed my stay here and
I want to come back again with my friends." The
natural forest, the earthly feeling
and the rain showers had a rainbow effect on
Mmiso who took time to visit the
falls during her stay at the country's premier
resort town.
"I've learnt a lot
about the Falls," says an awe struck Mmiso. "Its
great to be
here." To her fans in Zimbabwe, Mmiso says she
hopes to visit the country in
future for a memorable show. "I feel honoured to
know that I've man fans here
in Zimbabwe," says the youthful looking
presenter. "I want to come back again
to meet my fans. I would like to meet them and
share experiences with them. I
can learn a lot about Zimbabwe and how
television presenters do their work
here."
Mmiso was born on March
12 in 1978 in Gaborone. She went to Marang
Junior
School and finished her secondary education at
Gabane Senior School in 1995.
She went for auditions
in 2003 and was successful. She started her
Mokaragana local and music show in that same
year and since then she has
never looked back.
"Initially I wanted to
be a radio presenter. There was not TV in
Botswana at the time," she says. "But when
television came, I felt strongly that I could do
better on screen. So I went for auditions and
got a job in
2003."
Mmiso says she is a
dreamer who likes to live in the present. "I'm a
dreamer. I
try to avoid dwelling much on the future. You
can't predict the future and so, I
want to live in the present," she says.
"I get a lot of
inspiration from Mmasekgowa Masire-Mwamba, the
chief
executive of Bedia, an import and export
company," she says. "She is very
humble, down to earth and works hard in life."
Mmiso was chosen as the
goodwill ambassador for Botswana in the Global
Call
to Action Against Poverty campaign. She says she
will work to sensitise the
youth about poverty issues.
To her fans, she says:
"Believe in your self and dream on. Go out there
and do it.
If you believe in yourself, you can succeed. God is always there for
people who fight a good fight."
Mmiso's shows offers a
unique and energetic take in the world of
entertainment.
She is promising.
