Michael Jackson: Just Leave him
Alone

"I'll slit my wrist before I hurt a child."
Michael Jackson the entertainer, the father, the human being was aired on Fox, Thursday night two weeks ago. Maury Pavoich hosted Michael Jackson Interview The Footage You Were Never Meant To See. That was the film that ABC didn't air; the footage that Barbara Walters did not comment on, apparently because she didn't see it. The two-hour special, in my mind, redeemed this African American Superstar. ABC and that interviewer Bashir revitalized what "Yellow Journalism" is all about. You remember the sensationalists William Randolph Hearst, who purchased The Journal in 1895, and Albert Pulitzer, the one who founded the Journal in 1882, and started The World newspaper company? Hearst didn't spare any expense in his quest to be on top with increased circulations of The Journal. Although Pulitzer and Hearst were archrivals, they stole many of their staff and ideas from others. To give you a little insight on history, it was both newspapers, The World and The Journal that excited the thoughts of war in the minds of Americans in 1898, when the American battleship called the Maine, in Havana harbor, exploded on February 15, 1898. Thanks to yellow journalism, The World sold five-million copies the week after the explosion. They both played a part in the inciting the Spanish-American War, a war that "did not hold up to contemporary moral scrutiny." (onlineconcepts.com) Yellow Journalism isn't new, and we got to see ABC at work in its attempt to assassinate the character of Michael Jackson. You can call it damage control. You can even disagree or debate what you saw and heard on Fox, by his ex-wife, his make up artist, Jermaine, Joe and Katherine, etc., but how can you even debate the words of the yellow journalist who interview Michael Jackson? He said about Michael Jackson and his interactions with children were "spiritual," a far cry from the first show aired on Fox, with the cruel comments added by Barbara Walters. The interviewer received millions and ABC received high rates. I have a problem with those who do not realize that there are two sides to every story, and those who are intelligent enough to understand how questions are crafted to elicit what the interviewer wants to get out of the interviewee. The editing of the interview was a clear attempt to take the power away from a man who is spiritually, mentally and physically in tune with creation and its Creator. When Michael Jackson said, "there is always a mean spirited person trying to bring you down," I agreed with him. Just as money is known to be the root of evil, so is fame for some, even if it is only for a minute. History will prove this point, and the first airing of Michael Jackson's by ABC will proved this theory to be true. |

I still feel there is more to it that meets the eye. What was the interviewer motives? Who was behind spending five-million dollars to tear down this superstar? Could it be Sony? During Saviors Day 2003, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan told people not to believe the hype. That this young man is a billionaire who has a massive following, and now that Michael has entered the political arena, he has to be hushed up. I agree because Michael Jackson's have millions of followers and he is a Black man who spoke against a very powerful corporation. Later, the media attempted to make you believe he is Wacko, and in need of psychiatric help because he won't conform to the cultural norms of the way mainstream thinks he ought to live. Jermaine Jackson said
on Larry King Live, that this is an attempt to destroy him during
Black History Month. It is funny that if you read last week's article
that I had written, I had said the same thing. This just goes to show you how powerful words can be. This just goes to show you how the powerful feels the need to dictate to you how you should be (like the war that will happen in Iraq). Madonna went against the status quo and the media tried to tear her down. Paul Roberson, Marcus Garvey, and many other African Americans were called names and exiled from the United States because they would not conform, and because their political views were in conflict with the mainstream, the European American paradigm. For those of you who are so caught up in the hype, please stop letting the media discredit our people to make us look at our own kind differently. We have enough hate going on in this world. It seems today, hate sells. And, if you buy into it, there goes the mindset; you have taken on the task of the master continuing the saga of hate and destruction of a people. Michael Jackson has done a lot for children all over the world. He has donated entire gate money to charities. He have help open the consciousness to the famine in Africa years ago, and still donates, do you? Michael can't live a life like the ordinary person, but tell me how in today's world, people, are we so naïve to believe everything we see and hear in film? If the film Forrest Gump can show the character Forrest shaking hands with Kennedy, then you will believe anything. Check out the messenger and the message. When you get involved with politics and have the money to back you, anything can happen. Thursday night show revealed footage of how Michael brought each child to the window, and at one time had all three children together waving to the crowd, referring to the baby dangling incident that was blown way out of proportion. Since that airing, the news did not pick that up, because it wasn't sensational. My point is to open the eyes to your intellect and use your third eye. If a Black man can be killed in cold blood during Black History Month and acquitted the next and you accepted that, then I guess you could accept anything, such as the Modern Day Lynching of Michael Jackson's character. Why don't you all just do as he says: "Just leave me alone…stop dogging' me around."
