So You are Interested in Gangs

The Associated Press carried a story that KCBS picked up about the many gang web sites. They stated that law enforcement agencies want to close these sites.

Of course, that would be a gross infringement on their freedom of speech. A site in the West Bay has interesting information on it. This site seems to offer real-to-life information about gangs from individuals who have either lived the life or is one surviving the loss of a loved one.

Gangstyle.com offers sobering advice like this:
All this shit I hear about young people claiming gangs just makes me mad now. I am an ex-member of VoD and I have boiz in a lot of other gangs. I know what it is like to go out at 3 in the morning to go get revenge on someone who shot up your boy, I know what it is like to see them come back around to shoot up another of your boys. The gang life is an endless battle with no victories on either side. You may believe that you are better than a member of your rival gang, but that is most likely the same thing that they are thinking. No one lives forever, you're born, you live, you die. We can't change that. The thing that bothers me though is that I see all these kids out there in a hurry to get to the top, only to find that they are sinking deeper.

This particular site has testimonies like this throughout the site. With messages like this, we need more sites and more youth going to these sites. Gibbs encourages anyone interested in gang lifestyle to go to that site (www.gangstyle.com) and read their experiences.[]
