In today's world, we are going through changes that shouldn't even exist for Americans. It is hard to accept that the US is in a war. It is hard to accept that the US went from a surplus to a deficit less than four years and the word out on the news, not the streets, is that employment is rising. How can that be when people are still losing their jobs and companies are closing down due to budget cuts? I am here to tell you that your mind is being framed till the frame of mind millions have should become case studies. On Father's Day, I turned on the television to see that a South Korean man was captured and he was pleading for his life. The threat was if South Korea did not withdraw their troops from Iraq, he would be beheaded. I had many thoughts as I view the video clip. I thought about if this man was a father? I thought about how his mother may have felt, including his family. What was your frame of mind? In 2004, it is sad that parts of the world still live like savages. I felt for the man who I knew was going to die. I said to myself, as I looked at him plea, "I'm looking at a dead man." The moment I recognized the feeling, I was in sadness. I am blessed to be in this country for many reasons. But, I have never felt that this war was justified. In 2004, murders on our own streets are running rampant. From youths to seniors, murders are steady taking place. If I learned nothing from this war, I have learned that this war has taught the worst skills of all, to kill instead of negotiate. Islamic radicals in Saudi Arabia beheaded a US contractor, Paul Johnson, on June 18, 2004. America is in the oil kingdom of Arabia and Americans are not welcomed. Of course the President isn't going to bow down to terrorists, he stated that long ago. But, Americans are beginning to put on their thinking caps, or are they? Many views are often heard, and the ones heard by the media claim that the US is in too deep. Your minds were framed long ago. You had people telling you this was going to happen. I remember right after 911 in the newspaper was a headline that said, "Why they Hate Us?" Investigations are being made to find out the correlation between Osmar Bin Laden and Sadaam Hussein and the Al Qaeda's. Bottom line, for the most part, the mindset people of color had, was that there was no connection. We were trying to figure out why this President went from Bin Laden to a little dictator in Iraq? The truth is that this had been planned and plotted for years. It is being revealed and later more will be revealed. But, when election time comes around again, we will be tricked again. Afterall, as a people, we haven't begun to get out of box. Meaning, let's keep it real, did we support anyone of our likeness and assisted in elevating that person to the voting ballots? Reverend Al Sharpton was ridiculed, mocked, and not seriously taken and others dropped out for lack of funds. So, my point is you see who sets the tones! Who is guiding your thoughts and actions? I find it hard to believe in 2004, we are prepared to accept, shuffle and adapt to the conditions set forth, still. Looking at a man who is going to die on television, on Father's Day, was terrible to witness. It was not a movie but real. People are still losing jobs and that's real. The war is wrong and that's real. The earth is turning into a burial ground with bloody soil where only souls will rise while their carnal flesh turned to dust. My question is, "For what?" Case studies could be conducted on the ones who were quick to holler Patriotism and now using comparisons of Iraq with Vietnam. The conditioning continues and more are becoming psyched out into the foolish, not using the one sense everyone should have the ability to use with empirical evidence, "common sense." You are seeing it live and in living color. It's not entertainment. It's a framed mind because frame of mind means a temporary psychological state, so the framed mind must last longer depending how to measure what temporary is. I will tell you what it isn't. It's not a movie. God, grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change. The
courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Wake up! []
