Gibbs Editorial
We think the style is new and lighter--meeting our requirements of form and function. This new style allows us to include more on our front page; it allows us to link more to our archived pages that are often hidden in the Archive. Our Archives have received laurels for their weightiness and their extensive nature, but they have not been readily visible to the infrequent reader. This new style will allow us to exhibit more from that page each week. This new format also allows us to add greater content and depth to our magazine. We will have new writers, our standard columnists, and extensive audio interviews. It will take us a few weeks, but we will organize our audio archives, our article archives, our picture archives, our columnists' archives, and our imported articles archives. The other aspect of this new format is this: in the coming months, Gibbs may allow limited advertisements to support our expansive magazine. As our readership is increasing, we want to be able to bring you the most insightful analyses of news and events that affect the African American and ethnic minority communities. Finally, this new format allows easier navigation. From the front page, you can access most articles of this magazine--more than you could have with the old format. Instead of having last week's front page, this new format will only have last week's important lead articles. It will take a few weeks to get the bugs out of our new system, but we hope you enjoy this new format and that you will tell a friend about us. If you are a new reader of Gibbs, the strength of our articles may confuse you, so please consider a word about our style and attitude and our editorial policy. A number of you have written to us about various articles and our magazine generally; we thank you and solicit your comments. From time to time, we will publish various comments (good and bad) that we have gotten from readers. Thank you. []
