A CALIFORNIA RECALL:
A HIJACKING OF DEMOCRACY

America is being attacked by right wing tactics of the Republican Party. We are being denied our basic right of choice. When the Republican Party does not like the results or when it loses a battle, it changes the rules so they can recount the votes and get what they want. This is a very dangerous precedence for all Americans. Right wing politics have been invoked again and that's okay, but when you start pushing your agenda down people's throats after they have spoken, it becomes very dangerous road to take.

The Republican Party attempted to discredit and remove President Bill Clinton from the oval office through impeachment proceedings. What we should remember is that President Clinton did not threaten national security, nor did he present any danger to the American citizens. His dilemma was personal.

However, the Reagan-Bush Sr. Administration was responsible for the Iran-Contra scandal, which caused a national crisis. The Reagan Administration broke numerous United States trade agreements, including the selling of arms to Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Contras in Central South America.

Yet neither President Reagan nor President Bush Sr., has been brought up on charges of illegal trading of military weapons nor was any explanation made for them. Even more interesting is that no one in Congress moved to impeach them. Could it be that the right wing had the Rule of the Day?

Presently the basic American right to vote is being challenged by the Republican Party. This party is not satisfied with the Supreme Court coronation of our current President in 2000, something the High Court never should have done. They should have waited for the lower courts to make those legal decisions. If the Lower Courts could not come up with a legal conclusion, only then should the highest court in the land have voiced its opinion. With pressure from the Bush II administration they speeded up the ruling. Remember this current Supreme Court has the political leanings of the Republican Party.

The Republican Party did not like the results of the Florida election, so the Party changed the rules and George W. Bush is now in the White House. America took the results and moved on but the Republican Party continues its power play on the American public year after year.

Last year the Republican Party wanted and received the right to re-district the State of Texas. The results gave Republicans four new Congressional seats next year. This was done without even a whimper from the other parties in the State Texas.

The Republican Party is not finish. Now it wants the 5th largest economy in the world, California.

We are currently living a nightmare in the State of California. Gray Davis is being recalled. We have over 135 candidates for this office, from a porn queen, to a porn businessman, a former child star, a current movie star, the Terminator, to Simon; all of these choices California voters have.

The whole world has its collective eyes on the State. Three years ago the people of California elected Gray Davis as their Governor. The Republican Party does not think so. Thus they want to change the rules again and disregard the people's election. They say that the vote three years ago did not count.

Governor Gray Davis is being swept into a political hurricane not of his making. Two years ago the state of California had the worst economic energy crises; it was not Governor Davis's fault. Enron and other energy companies, with the help of the White House, played games and kept energy away from the State. Now the Republican Party wants to capitalize on the turmoil in California. This is so unfair. It's like a little bully in the school playground that beats up on anybody that gets in his/her way.

What are we teaching our children? Win at all cost. They (children) are watching this; children are analyzing this, and trust me, when they grow up many of them will use this tactical event to further their careers.

Most of the workers of Enron and World Com come from the Reagan-Bush Sr., era. An era when money and power ruled the day and being greedy one reaped rewards. Now we are paying for actions taken by Republicans in California with people losing jobs, not finding jobs, and just giving up on jobs. As the robot would say in the old late sixties television show "Lost In Space", DANGER, DANGER, DANGER Will Robinson. "

This is a direct assault on American Democracy. It's the total disrespect of the law by the Republican Party and that's what scares me more then anything. This party attacks women's rights, minority rights, gay and lesbian rights, and disabled rights. It's time to end this process.   []

THAT IS THE GRAYLINE!
