Decent Americans Must Stop This Madness by The Republicans
-A Gibbs Editorial-

For six years the Republican Party has ruled this nation with an iron fist. During that time they have orchestrated an orgy of pain, national debt and other disgraces; and all the while they have called that behavior virtue and themselves religious and moral, having hijacked religion and made it a part of their political apparatus Since George Bush's abnormal ascendancy into the presidency and the attack upon the Twin Towers of 9-11, the Republicans have behaved almost dictatorial in governing this nation. They have argued that this dictatorial power conferred on the president through their control of both houses of Congress was necessary for the security of this nation, but a closer look reveals that those powers have been exercised more to cover their own wrong-doings, their corruption, and, yes, their evil. Bush and Republicans have assumed moral ground that was not theirs to possess. Even as the Rev. Ted Haggard proved to be quite hypocritical and immoral, so has this administration with their alignment with and to the Moral Majority. While the Republicans have almost taken over the reins of religion in America and shaped it like unto themselves, they have usurped the morality of good and decent people and stationed Evangelicals at their political ready. And since the church, like the nation, has no sense of its own history, these Evangelicals are blind to the fact that whenever the church aligns itself with politics, the church always loses. This lesson is taught as far back as Emperor Constantine (313AD) claiming a defective and biblically flawed salvation, much like George Bush, to take over the leadership of the church. He thereafter decreed that no one could work in his administration of the Roman Empire unless he was first a member of the church. From that decree, came miscreants and all types of hypocritical and unsaved men to work for the Emperor, as they claimed to be Christians. They corrupted the church and called good evil and evil good; consequently, the church and those therein lost. The present condition of the Evangelical movement and the church world today, especially those entering politics and embedding themselves in this Republican Party are in a similar condition. They are deceitful workers who claim virtue but live duplicitous and immoral lives. They have used religion as a cloak for their hatred, racism, bigotry, and ignorance. They are mindless minions at the ready of corrupt Republican politicians, justifying all missteps of Republican evil (the Republicans' favorite word to label others) as short-comings which they readily forgive and quickly put behind them. This Republican administration has raised this nation's debt to some $8 trillion, [$8,000,000, 000,000] they have never balanced the US budget, and have no plans to balance it, much as Ronald Reagan didn't balance it! The WashingtonPost.com writes this in an editorial:
This Republican administration has illegally invaded Iraq, a nation that had nothing to do with an attack on the US; they have killed up to 600,000 Iraqi citizens, according the a Lancet Medical Journal reported study; they have killed 2,800 US soldiers by Bush's own count, physically and psychologically wounding over 50,000 US soldiers; they have raided the US treasure to finance this war to the tune of $450 billion this far, and billions of dollars of that has gone into the hands of Dick Cheney's former corporation, which he profits from because he still has holdings in that corporation in a blind trust. This administration has violated national and international laws in more ways than can be counted, in the name of "fighting terrorism." They have called these evils good, because we are the good guys. But only blind Americans believe this Republican propaganda. This nation has become the laughing stock and a pariah around the world. We have shown ourselves to be immature and incompetent by the arrogance of power that has gotten us into another one of those "little wars" that we cannot, like Vietnam, and will not win! If that were not enough, the Republicans have lied, lied, and lied;
they have lied about their lies; they have lied in every way it is
possible to lie. But Election day is a day that decent Americans can
start taking back their nation and show the world that we are not the
simpletons we seem to be under this bankrupt Republican Party's
administration. To use an old Christian scripture that is seemingly forgotten,
the Prophet Joel said this:
Tomorrow is election day, and all that Joel the Prophet said needs to be done. For this nation has lingered in the chambers of the sea of confusion and ignorance too long; tomorrow let us blow the trumpet in our Zion, go into those voting booths, and blow those corrupt liars out of office, that we can be proud and feel clean again! 11/6/06 |
